At about the time RoundUp App was dropping letters to Santa in the mail, we got a call from Bestop. RoundUp at Checkout is an eCommerce software solution<\/a> that adds a donation feature to the checkout page for online customers. Once the customer proceeds to checkout, they are offered the option to round up their transaction for charity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Merchants select the causes they care about from our database. With over 1.5 million nonprofits to choose from, there is no shortage of great choices.\u00a0 Merchants can match donations up to 20x and set a monthly cap on how much they will match.\u00a0 Matching donations are tax deductible for the merchants when they select a registered 501c(3) charity.<\/span><\/p>

RoundUp at Checkout donation options include adding $1 or rounding up to the nearest dollar. Bestop shared that in the last few Decembers they have partnered with the local Mile-Hi Jeep Club <\/span>to support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation<\/a>. The club organizes an event called Christmas Caravan for Kids. Club members meet in multiple locations all around Denver and caravan to the main event location where the Marine\u2019s are present to collect donations. Mile-Hi Jeep Club brings in vendors, like Bestop, to exhibit at an expo for the participants after they have donated their toys. Bestop usually donates over $1,000 of toys for deserving children through this program each year.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Bestop wanted to include their online customers in the fundraiser and give them an option to \u201cround up\u201d in full dollars, rather than just cents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Inspired by this request, RoundUp App\u2019s product team activated a custom $10 donation option.\u00a0 Never one to shy from getting dirty or stepping up to help their community, Bestop added a 2x match during the narrow promotion time frame. The December fundraising campaign success inspired them to reach out to us one month later, when tragedy struck close to home with the Marshall Fires. The fire was one of the <\/span>most destructive <\/span><\/a>in Colorado history and received national news coverage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

“The eyes of the nation and from Colorado turn to Boulder County\u2026” Colorado Governor, Jared Polis said in the aftermath.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We provided a simple code that allowed a donation form to be embedded on their page. Those who made the donation didn\u2019t have to leave the website they are on, thus limiting donor friction.<\/span><\/p>
